- US insurance technology and commentary on main differences between UK and US property and casualty covers. Different terminology identified!
- Specific treatment of covers unique to USA: Healthcare, workmens’ compensation, terrorism, cyber, natural disasters
- State oversight over insurance: Policy filings and rating, regulatory controls and the important role of the NAIIC.
- Federal controls
- Surplus Lines and how it works
- Reinsurance in the USA
- Unique characteristics regarding claims handling in USA: Denials, declaratory judgment, defence versus coverage counsel, bad faith claims.
